SUMMARY:Inclusion Leadership Program
DESCRIPTION:o The Inclusion Leadership Program is designed to provide additional support and job training for older campers (16 +) transitioning into counselors. The purpose of the program is to facilitate the camper transitioning as a counselor into the JCC summer camp program with a maximum degree of involvement as possible. In general\, the role of Inclusion Leadership includes the following responsibilities:\no Providing appropriate assistance (examples\, interpreting instructions\, and physical assistance) in order to help campers\, learn & practice new skills.\no Working primarily with assigned bunks/specialists but may include working with other areas of camp.\no Assisting with daily duties of running the summer camp. Daily jobs will be assigned.\no Adapting activities\, as needed\, to allow active\, appropriate\, and successful participation\no Providing positive reinforcement and energy to assigned bunk/group/specialist.\no Learning and assessing assigned bunk/specialist to help promote enjoyment in the program\no Learning job skills through the daily duties completed at camp\no Communicates with Inclusion Coordinator and/or Special Needs Director\no Maintains confidentiality both in and out of the workplace\no Represents the program and center in a professional manner\, is punctual\, and maintains appropriate attire

SUMMARY:Inclusion Program at Camp J Miami
DESCRIPTION:JCC Summer Camp strives to create the most inclusive and supportive environment for children of all abilities. We enthusiastically welcome children and teens with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges in all camp programs. Children in the inclusion program may have accommodations made and receive special assistance from a facilitator. All applicants must complete an individualized assessment to determine whether the program will meet the needs of each prospective camper.

SUMMARY:Florida Voices for Health Care Roundtable on: Access to Care for Floridians with Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:Through 2021\, the Florida Voices for Health will be working to capture the experiences of Floridians with disabilities and to share them directly with elected officials. We want to know what works well and what doesn’t in critical programs like Medicaid\, Medicare\, and SSI. \nWe’re inviting Floridians with disabilities\, their family members\, caregivers\, and providers to join a small group discussion about their experiences and how the health care system can be improved. The roundtables will be accessible for all people with disabilities and gift cards provided for participation. \nThis session will focus on the positive and negative experiences Floridians with disabilities have had accessing health care and other services in Florida. We want to hear from all Floridians who self-identify as having a disability. \n\n\n\nTime \n\nWe’re inviting Floridians with disabilities\, their family members\, caregivers\, and providers to join a small group discussion about their experiences and how the health care system can be improved. This includes Floridians who have received or are waiting to be approved for home and community-based services and long-term care and support services. Each roundtable will have accommodations for all people with disabilities and gift cards will be provided for participation. \n  \nHow to Participate \nIf you’re interested in joining one of our small group discussions\, please register as they are space limited. The 60-minute conversation will take place over Zoom and will be recorded for note taking purposes only.
