DESCRIPTION:The Little Lighthouse Foundation’s (“LLF”) Story Hour is a reading program and is hosted at Chapman Partnership. \nLLF’s Story Hour takes place in Chapman Partnership’s Family Resource Center. Volunteers work with children ages four to seven to entertain and educate them with group readings and activities. Volunteers will spend the first portion of the hour-long program reading to the children and encouraging children to read aloud to the group. Reading is followed by an arts & crafts project that varies each week. Children keep the craft projects they create and volunteers are encouraged to create their own projects as well.

DESCRIPTION:Neurobiological Foundations of Executive Functions and Implications for Reading and Writing\nTHIS TALK IS RECORDED AND AVAILABLE ANY TIME \nLaurie Cutting\, Ph.D. \n\n\n\n\nPresented at Dyslexia and Literacy: Executive Functions – Oral Language Connections to Reading and Writing \non Friday\, October 16th\, 2020 from\nthe Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professionals in Boston\, MA. \n\nLaurie E. Cutting\, Ph.D.\, is Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Special Education\, Psychology\, Radiology\, and Pediatrics. She is also a Senior Scientist at Haskins Laboratories and a member of the Vanderbilt Brain Institute as well as the Center for Cognitive and Integrative Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University. She is the principal investigator of several NIH-funded research projects on reading and reading comprehension and a co-investigator on other NIH-funded and Department of Education-funded projects on reading\, reading disabilities\, and ADHD.
