For autistic individuals\, technology can be powerful in supporting and enhancing independence. In this interactive workshop\, participants will spend a “Day in the Life” of autistic individuals of varying age and ability levels to learn about useful technology tools for the academic\, home\, and community environments. The morning will be spent with an overview of ways technology builds independence. Focusing on a “Day in the Life” of our example individuals\, the morning will continue with dozens of technology tools to support organization\, math\, reading\, and writing. The afternoon focuses on more technology tools to build independence at home with activities of daily living and in the community with an emphasis on social skills\, navigation\, and money management. A T-shirt and Props will be provided to each participant.
