The Department of Special Education in Miami-Dade County Public Schools

SPED Service Centers, are geographically located throughout the district to administer direct support services for schools within their corresponding areas. In particular, SPED Centers oversee: psycho-educational diagnosis, consultation and evaluation; student placement in special education or gifted programs; speech/language pathology evaluation and related support services; social/emotional/behavioral assessments; truancy prevention, etc.
