This year’s Montag Lecture features Emily Hanford, award-winning investigative reporter who’s been working in public media for more than 25 years. Currently, senior education correspondent for APM Reports, the documentary and investigative group at American Public Media, Emily’s focus is on equity, the way we teach reading today, and literacy – arguing that there can be no social justice until we ensure that every child has access to reading.

The lecture will be a must-see for anyone with children who read, who will read, who struggle with reading; and also for teachers who have struggling readers, for scholars who are studying the science, and for anyone concerned about today’s literacy crisis.
