Fragile X, Autism and Family Life:
Coaching Colburn is a short film that looks into the family dynamics of James Colburn, an adult with Fragile X Syndrome and Autism. This poignant and comedic film documents James’ journey with his family at his side.
Brought to us by ReelAbilities Film Festival, the largest festival in the US dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories and artistic expressions of people with different disabilities. Founded in 2007 at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, the festival presents award-winning films by and about people with disabilities in multiple locations throughout host cities.

After the virtual screening Nancy Zaretsky, Inclusion Specialist, Miami Jewish Abilities Alliance will host a round table discussion with:

Jeff Bemiss, the director of Coaching Colburn;Miami

Dr. Deborah Barbouth, director of the South Florida Fragile X Clinic (SFFXC) at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine;

and Michel Kaplan, parent and Co-Founder of Families for Fragile
