The JDAIM Challenge

Throughout February

The JDAIM Challenge is a campaign celebrating JDAIM and sharing tips and strategies for shaping a more inclusive world. Each day, new material will be available on specific ways to develop an outlook that recognizes the strengths and abilities of everyone, as well as practical ideas for interacting with those with disabilities.

Yachad is dedicated to enriching the lives of Jewish individuals with disabilities and their families by enhancing their communal participation and their connection to Judaism through social and educational programs and support services.

18 Ways Congregations Can Observe JDAIM

Discover helpful tips and resources congregations and other nonprofits can use to plan for JFAIM observances, presented by two different organizations.

Matan empowers Jewish community leaders and educators through training, coaching and consultation to provide purposeful, enriching and inclusive opportunities for people with disabilities and their families.

The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC), mandated by the Union for Reform Judaism, works to educate, inspire and mobilize the Reform Jewish community to advocate for social justice.

Resiliency Roundtable:
Neurodiversity & Youth Mental Health

Watch a discussion that explores overlapping efforts to destigmatize mental health conditions and disabilities and find solutions for creating communities that foster belonging for people of all abilities. You will learn about mental health resources that support youth, families, educational settings and the larger Jewish community and hear from Jewish leaders in the disability, inclusion and mental health space.

Story Time with PJ Library

Join PJ Library at Miami Children’s Museum to celebrate JDAIM. The event will feature an inclusive story time with Gitty Zee, author of Many Ways to See, as well as snacks and an arts & crafts activity! When Gitty lost her sight as a preteen, she could have fallen apart. Instead, she chose to learn to cope. Now, she’s on a mission to show people that they can overcome challenges and stay positive no matter what life throws at them.

The Three of Us

Please join us for the Miami Beach JCC’s Israeli Film Series and JDAIM event for a screening of The Three of Us. Winner of three Jerusalem Film Festival awards, including Best Documentary, Best Editing, and Best Directing, this is an extraordinarily moving film about a young ultra-Orthodox couple who challenge Israel’s established norms by integrating their autistic son into society. Their courageous journey delves into the intricate interplay of love, faith and self-discovery, as they risk everything to do what they believe is right. Through their struggle, they defy preconceived notions, wholeheartedly embrace parenthood, and embark on a quest to find their rightful place in the world.
